Early Black Friday Guide

November 1, 2019

Get ready everyone, the holidays are officially here. You know what that means… BLACK FRIDAY.

November 29th is the big day, and it’s coming up FAST. Not to mention, if you wait ’til then to shop you’ll miss out on some of the best deals this year. Big box retailers like Target, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart are already offering some great deals, and it’s only going to ramp up from here. Get excited!

Whether you’re shopping for gifts for your family, or you want to get the best deal on that one item you’ve been eyeing, it helps to have a plan of attack.

Where and when will you shop?

How much are you looking to spend?

Will you be shopping online, or in-store?

These are all good things to think about and ask yourself before hitting the “add to cart” button. Come on ladies (and gents) this season, let’s shop smarter! Who’s with me?

I know it can be overwhelming to keep tabs on ALL of the sales going on, so I wanted to put a list together for y’all. I will keep updating this list as sales change, so you can bookmark this page and come back to it as we get into the holiday season.

Happy shopping!

Easter Approved Style

April 15, 2019

Every year, Easter Sunday comes around, and every year I reach for another classic floral dress. Not a bad option– after all, there are only so many things you can wear that are appropriate for the occasion. But it got me thinking, what are some other options for the girls who aren’t the “dress type” or maybe you just want to change it up this year, but still want to look put together and ready for Easter brunch, church, etc.

We still have a week to prepare, so plenty of time to get all of those outfits ready. Online or in store, I purposely picked retailers that are easily accessible, have items in stock, and aren’t outrageously expensive. You could also use these examples as inspiration to style items you already own, it’s all up to you! I just thought it would be helpful.

So, here are my “Easter Approved” looks. You can shop them all through the links below. I hope you enjoy it & have a Hoppy Easter!

**left to right**

  1. Gold Bamboo Hoops, Plaid Blazer, Lace Cami, Kahkis, Cognac Block Heels.
  2. Tiered Earrings, Camel Sweater, Woven Satchel, Navy Culottes, Striped Mules.
  3. Statement Earrings, Teal Dress, Studded Clutch, Floral Print Sandals.
  4. Coral Fringe Earrings, Yellow Polka Dot Top, White Paper Bag Pants, Light Coral Heeled Mule.

Leggings for Spring

March 25, 2019

Alright ladies, spring has sprung! I am all about getting some sun and showing off those legs, but that doesn’t mean we have to completely ditch the leggings.

Leggings can be a great transition wardrobe staple as the weather hits that sweet-spot of sunny and 75. This year, I am all about the pastels, prints, and little details, that bring traditional cold climate clothes into warm weather wearables! I’m talking cutouts, color-blocking, moto, stripes, scalloped edges, and camo. What’s not to love?

I rounded up some of my favorite finds for y’all to shop, including my very favorite pair of lululemon dupes that come in a bunch of different colors, and are as soft as butter (& squat proof, for all my gym goers out there).

What are your go-to spring colors? Leave a comment and let me know!

What I’m Shopping – Spring 2019 Edition

March 11, 2019

Finally, daylight savings time is giving us some sunshine! I bet the majority of us are getting antsy for spring weather to stick around for more than a couple days. Am I right?

With all the extra Vitamin D, I’ve been feeling inspired to add a few items to add to this year’s spring wardrobe rotation. I have been eyeing these finds for a while now, and I wanted to do a round up to share them with y’all.

Truth is, I’m super conscious when it comes to shopping because your girl has bills to pay and it ain’t cheap! I religiously get ideas from name brand retailers, then I do my research to find similar items on Amazon….I mean, hello, Prime shipping (aka the real MVP)! I love these items because they are trendy pieces without the big price tag, which is why I think you’re really going to like them.

I hope y’all enjoy, let me know what items you’re shopping for this Spring.

Affordable Spring Fashion

February 27, 2019

When I moved to Charlotte, I had NO idea what I was getting into. I knew virtually no one, had no clue where I was half the time, and didn’t know where to begin with shopping. I constantly peered out my window at stoplights at all the little boutiques, and pretty much all I could do was get out there and explore every nook and cranny of this place. Every lunch break, week night, and free weekend I had was spent finding somewhere new. Once I found Ivy & Leo, I was hooked.

As a thrifty shopper, I don’t like to spend exorbitant amounts of money on pieces that won’t last me through a season, let alone a year. That’s what makes this place different. No only are the clothes classy, timeless, and trendy, but they are high quality and super affordable — it’s a win-win! If you’re thinking to yourself, “But Megan, isn’t that only in Charlotte?”… well friends, great news is this boutique ships out orders too so you can online shop to your heart’s desire! (I mean, who doesn’t like to window shop from their couch?!)

Also — more great news — I rounded up all of my favorite new arrivals from their 2019 spring collection & I absolutely adore all of it (so does my credit card, apparently). So, if you’re anything like me and you get a little shopping cart crazy at the online checkout, check out the total and think, ‘well there goes another hole in my wallet’… don’t worry, I got you girl!

Ivy & Leo has generously given all of my followers 15% off all orders using the code:

We’re Talkin’ Tees

February 19, 2019

Frumpy, tacky, lazy…just a few words we hear/associate with wearing tee shirts. Heck, I’ll even admit to thinking the same thing. Don’t get me wrong, there is a time and a place for the classic tee (sporting events, working out, running a quick errand after letting lose on a Friday night, we’ve all been there), but, not all t-shirts are created equal.

As a full grown adult, it’s time to step it up. Long gone are the days when throwing on a XL Comfort Colors tee with your sorority letters is considered “appropriate” to wear out of the house. So how exactly do we “glow up” the t-shirt game and finally seem like we have it all together even on our not-so-great days? I have a few tips for ya.

  1. Tie It Up — this is the ultimate hack to polish an oversized tee. Simply pulling the extra fabric into a lose knot in the front of your shirt cinches your waist and gives you a little more shape while still being effortlessly comfy.

2. Choose Your Pants Wisely — Sure, t-shirts are meant to be worn in a comfortable fashion, but what you chose to pair with it can dramatically change the entire look. If you’re going to opt for a pair of leggings, make sure you ask yourself these two things; Are these leggings see through? & Is this shirt is long enough? No one wants to end up on a stranger’s Snapchat exposing your entire rear end on the internet. My rule of thumb is, if someone else can tell what kind or color your underwear is, you’re probably wearing the wring thing. Pick a pair of jeans instead, or throw a jean jacket around your waist. Easy fix!

3. Accessories are Your Friend — It doesn’t take much, but a few final touches can take a tee from frumpy to fab in seconds. Your favorite sunnies, pearls, and a cute pair of tennis shoes are all you need. As you grab your purse on the way out the door, you’ll catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and say “dang, you look good!”

4. Sass & a Smile — Happiest girls are the prettiest girls after all! If you feel comfortable in the skin you’re in, it doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, you will come off looking your best. Who care’s if the rest of the world is dressed to the nines, you are killing it in your comfy duds and you should never question it… & if someone asks you if Pepsi is okay, it most definitely is not (sorry not sorry).

Best Winter Coats Under $100

December 3, 2018

Hey gals (& gents)!

I’ve been a little (a lot) M.I.A. recently, and I am going to be sharing a post all about what’s been going on lately; the good, the bad, and the crazy.

I started this post weeks ago, and honestly the holiday shopping got SUPER intimidating to me, so I decided to take the pressure off myself and give this list to you all when the madness (sort of) died down. The good news is there are still amazing deals going on. It almost seems like Black Friday and Cyber Monday won’t end! Anyone else?!

I know for all of y’all in the south, it is JUST now starting to cool down. Perfect timing to get yourself a classic coat for a killer deal so that you’re ready for the sub 30 temps, soon to come *cringe*.

Personally, I have been a drawn to camel and grey colors, and I am really into the thigh length brushed-knit style, such a classic!

So, without further adieu…enjoy!
